Designing and building furniture is inspired greatly by the warmth and charm of wood. It is a material rich in character and individuality, offering much more than the shapes and forms we cut from it. Wood has a powerful graphic quality with distinct grain patterns and infinitely varying color. When considered thoughtfully, these visual irregularities are what make a piece sing.
Small details are evident in my furniture that contribute to its over-all presence, or stance, but never scream for attention. The subtleties of shape and line, though understated, give life to an otherwise static object. My work is unpretentious, modest by design, but speaks more about integrity and lasting appeal.
